good mornings from the nxx group chat
no one is required to be a “responsible adult” 100% of the time. there are plenty of aspects of adult life–finances, employment, housing, relationship negotiation, etc–where yeah, responsibility and maturity are very very important.
BUT. finding time to play, to be silly, to relax and be a bit ridiculous and indulge in childish joys–these are fundamental aspects of being human, at any age. being an adult doesn’t mean giving up the things that make you happy; ideally, it means you get to choose what happiness looks like to you.

Ikemen Vampire Chocolate Rush: Sebastian

It was the morning of Valentine’s day. Sebastian and I were hard at work making chocolates for all the residents.
Sebastian: It certainly does take a long time to make chocolate for so many people. But we can’t let it take away time from breakfast preparations. Let’s hurry up and finish this, MC.
MC: Okay! Thanks.
We continued measuring out the ingredients together.
(I wasn’t expecting him to offer to help me. But it is a lot of work for one person to do by themselves.)
I began mixing the chocolate in a bowl, feeling grateful for Sebastian’s help. But…

Sebastian: Ah, that won’t do. The heat is much too hot to melt chocolate.
MC: So then…
Sebastian: We have to get the temperature down and start again.
MC: All right!
(Sebastian is so strict! But that just means the chocolate will be perfect!)
I did my best to follow his instructions. And gradually, his expression began to soften.
Sebastian: It looks like you’ve gotten the hang of it. If you keep it up just like that, we’ll have this done in no time.
MC: Okay! I’ll do my best!
(All right… We’re all done!)
I breathed a sigh of relief when all the chocolates were done.
Sebastian: You did a great job, MC. Now all we have to do is separate them and wrap them.
MC: Yep. Thank you so much for all your help.
He silently began staring at the chocolates. And for some reason… he looked rather annoyed.
Sebastian: …It’s a bit disappointing knowing we both worked so hard on this and you’re just going to give it all away to someone else.
MC: …What?
I blinked at him in surprise.
(He was so strict and businesslike before… what’s gotten into him all of a sudden?)
MC: There’s chocolate there for you, Sebastian.
He looked at me and slowly shook his head.
Sebastian: That’s not what I meant. I’m saying I want you all to myself.
He took my hand and quickly licked off a bit of chocolate that was on my fingertips.
MC: Ah!
(What in the world just happened?!)
My heart started beating like mad and I didn’t think I’d ever blushed harder in my life. I was frozen, completely stunned. Sebastian quietly let go of my hand and smiled.
Sebastian: …I was only joking.
MC: G-Geez, Sebastian! Don’t tease me like that! You nearly gave me a heart attack!
I quickly turned away from him, not wanting him to see my bright red face.
(…But I’ll make sure he gets the chocolate that turned out the best.)
I took a deep breath, desperately trying to calm my still racing heart…
